Niks, Naks and spring?

The wind is in the north and the weather was quite cold last night. When we looked out in the morning everything was white!

Naks: Can we soon plant something in this flower box outside our balcony?

Niks: Do you know something that grows in the snow?

After lunch Niks and Naks wanted to go out to see if there are any signs of spring.

Niks: This is what spring looks like here...

Naks: Patches of snow and dry grass...

Naks: But we found a bare spot...

Niks: And there are some new shoots...

Naks: I think these will become daffodils...

Niks: But in the forest where the sun does not shine the blueberries are well covered with snow.

Naks: And the swamp is still frozen solid...

Niks: ... the ice still keeps the swamp monsters at bay...

Naks: But we can't swim in the swamp now.

Niks: Here is a nice tree stump to perch on...

Naks: It's a high one, we have a good view over the frozen swamp.

Niks: This is a picture of the snowy forest. We are not in this picture because there was no good spot for us to sit on.

Naks: The beach looks quite deserted.

Niks: I can't even tell where the sand ends and the water begins. I think we are very close to the dividing line.

Naks: But we can't swim in the snow...

Outsider: But there is the winter swimmer's hole in the ice just behind the sauna building if you want to go for a swim.

Niks: We would rather swim in the swamp.

Naks: We'll wait until the swamp melts.

The big lake is still frozen, but the ice is quite rotten by now, it is no longer safe to go to the lighthouse. Maybe again next year.
